The next thing to do is to sign up, using your Gmail on Google my Business; this is one of the biggest products of Google, that is helping businesses gain Visibility online.

Google my Business also know as GMB helps visibility in several ways, but remember that Google is the most used searched engine online, and obviously, GMB will make your business available to people that need more information about you (your business) when they search for it.

Now to the main importance of GMB, there are three (3) main information every business is supposed to make available online, this information can also be called NAP.

NAP is an acronym of Name, Address, and Phone Number.

Once you sign up on GMB, provided your business is verified, Google makes your NAP details available to your audience when they search about you on Google.com.

Some of your audience can decide to contact you right from the Search Engine Result Page (SERP) without having to visit your website or any other link where you might have your information.

Registering for Google my Business also known as GMB is very straight forward.

Log on to Google my Business, with your already existing Gmail, click on Start Now, you can also download the GMB App on Google and iOS App Store.

Using: https://www.google.com/intl/en_ng/business/

Type in your business name, provided the business is not previously existing on Google business, the system will instruct you to ‘Create a business with this name’, click Next.

Choose your business category by typing it.

Say yes to add a location that customers can visit, like a store or office.

Select Yes if you serve customers outside your location

Add other locations where you serve customers, by typing it.

Add your Phone Number, and Website (If you have one)

Click Finish to complete this process.

There are several methods of verification, depending on the one that Google makes available for you.

In very few cases, verification by e-Mail or Phone Number can be an option available for you which makes your verification process very easy.

But in most cases, it’s always Postcard by mail, where they send your verification code to your address, it comes in a hard-copy form.

A document will be given to you, where you’ll find your verification code, log on back to your Google business profile and input the code and that verifies your business.

However, it is stated that this code comes within 14 days after your registration, but most times it takes longer or even doesn’t come at all.

If it takes longer than 14 Days, you can reach out to us and we will help you from there.

But if you already have your business on Google my business.

Then fine, all you need to do is to optimize your business on Google Business.

Now assuming we all have our business already verified or have existing on Google my Business account.

Its actually, as good as you don’t have, if it’s not Optimized.

Your business that has just been on Google business, only people who know you or want to find more information about your business can Google it, but remember that people who really need your products/service don’t know your business, all the are Googling or Searching for is Solution to there problem.

Optimization is all about your business popping up to the people that are searching for the solution you’re providing.

Now, Optimization has to do with keywords.

In this context, a keyword is a set of phrases of which users use in searching for relevant information on Search Engines.

Example of High Ranking keywords relating to human hair is: cheap human hair in Nigeria

The above example of the keyword ‘cheap human hair in Nigeria’ is given based on statistics of what people search most and not just assumptions.

However, you can work on assumption and you may be right.

Now, assuming you have the right top ranking keyword in your industry, what you need to do is to go back to your Google business profile and edit your name.

Now, this is how search engine works, whenever you search for anything, the system revolves all over the internet and fetches out where it can find that keyword or relevant links relating to that keyword.

That’s why for example, assuming your business is is A.B.C Stores (Which is what you have on Google business)

Whenever someone types or searches for A.B.C Stores, the system revolves over the Internet and fetch our A.B.C Stores via your Google business profile.

Now Optimizing A.B.C Stores, assuming this person sells human hair.

All He/She needs to do change the name from A.B.C Stores to
A.B.C Stores | cheap human hair in Lagos, Nigeria.

So whenever they search for A.B.C Stores or cheap human hair in Lagos or cheap human hair in Nigeria, the business also pops up via Search engine.
